Our Staff
Natalie is the owner of Bright Light Montessori and our Primary Tutor (Grade 1-7). Natalie founded the school in January 2017, having dreamt about opening her own school since age 12. She is a single mother to two precious girls named Lola and Nora. Each little one who enters her school is precious to her, and she is exceptionally dedicated to helping them develop into independent and happy children.
Preschool
Jade
Jade joined Bright Light in January 2023 as our Preschool Directress. She has a BA in Linguistics and a Montessori diploma in Ages 3-6 through Montessori Centre South Africa. Jade is gentle and kind hearted. She aims to make every child feel loved and accepted. Jade sets fantastic boundaries and helps prepare all the children for their next adventure of Grade 1.
Danielle
Danielle has been our Preschool Assistant since January 2020. She is enthusiastic, helps set great boundaries and enjoys guiding the preschoolers toward independence. Danielle is currently completing her Age 3-6 Montessori qualification through Montessori Centre South Africa.
Audrey
Audrey is our Support Assistant in the 3-6 age environment. She joined Bright Light as a cleaning assistant and quickly proved herself more than capable in a school environment. Her adoration of the children shines through. Audrey is fun loving and kind and readily supports the children in all their needs.
Toddler
Sandi
Sandi is our Toddler Directress. She has been at Bright Light since 2017, helping to lead all the little ones through the vital stages of their first 1000 days. Guiding them through learning in an exploratory way is a clear passion. She enjoys singing and dancing with the children and can regularly be found teaching them new action songs. Sandi is qualified in both the Toddler and Age 3-6 Montessori learning environments.
Cynthia
Cynthia is our Toddler Assistant and has been at Bright Light since January 2018. The little ones adore her, and she is wonderful at guiding them toward independence. Cynthia is level headed and prides herself on being supportive of all the children.
Emily
Emily (or Teacher Emily as she is called) is the Second Assistant in the Toddler Class. She has been at Bright Light since January 2021. Her soft and nurturing nature make her a favourite of many children. Emily is gentle and quiet, but her laughter lights up our classrooms.
Support
Tanya
Tanya is our Head of Aftercare. She joined Bright Light in 2018 and has enjoyed witnessing her students blossom through play. Tanya helps plan and implement fun activities on cold, wet days and makes sure everyone is safe while playing outside. Tanya is ably supported by all the classroom assistants.
Noreen
Noreen (Aunty Noreen) is our School Accountant but also our Afrikaans Teacher. She helps keep everyone on track and is the point of contact for invoicing. Her Afrikaans lessons are invaluable in exposing all the children to the language to ensure they are ready for Grade 1.
Ruth
Ruth heads up all the cleaning and organising at Bright Light, capably supported by Catherine and Jessie. She ensures that the whole school is clean and sanitary to help our children and teachers stay healthy.
